Today, the world is undergoing a transformational change and adjustment because of simultaneous global warming and an increase in crude oil prices, necessitating a paradigm shift towards sustainable growth. It is worldwide recognized that fossil fuels are depleting fast and their excessive use needs to be curbed. More than 40 percent of population does not have access to electricity. In this context, the role of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy is vital. India has been making continuous progress in conventional as well as renewable power generation. India lies in the sunny region of the world. Most part of India receives 4-7 kilowatt hours of solar radiation per square meter of area per day with 250-300 sunny days in a year. The highest amount of solar energy is received in Rajasthan state and as compare to other state.
Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has selected Rajasthan as one of the States where solar energy will have its future. Moreover NAVYUG VIKAS & ANUSANDHAN SANSTHAN has been selected out of 40 plus NGO's throughout India to carry out the work in selected villages of Rajasthan for the solar energy project (Empanelled for Rural Area Energy Access Program).
Ministry of New and Renewable Energy department will assign the village to Navyug Anusandhan Sansthan. It will be the job of the NYVAS to make the people aware about the benefits of solar energy and power generation for the village use. This project will involve NYVAS to convince people to take up the solar energy and setup a solar energy plant so that it will suffice the electricity requirement for that particular village.
